Freefly Systems Teases New Drone, Astro
Freefly Systems shared a teaser today for a new quadcopter named the “Astro” which appears to fly the Sony A7R4 in a camera specific gimbal. Described as “Our first fully connected commercial drone built in partnership with Auterion.”

ABOUT US
We Fly is an aerial cinematography, photography and specialty camera movement team. We use drones, cable cams, helicopters and gimbal systems to get the shot safely.
All drone operations are FAA Part 107compliant, and we carry the proper authorizations and waivers to fly in cities across North America. All operations are covered under a $5 million aviation liability policy and we meet the requirements for all domestic / international studios & networks. The team has been granted waivers for both night operations & flight over humans. Packages include permit coordination with local film offices and the Federal Aviation Administration.
Our drone pilots & aerial camera operators are among the most experienced globally with thousands of flight hours.
Platforms we fly include the DJI Inspire 2 drone with X7 camera system, MFD 5000 heavy lift drone with Arri Alexa Mini or Red cameras and the DEFY Cadence cablecam system.
We have both IATSE Local 600 and non-union drone pilots, aerial camera operators and drone technicians.
With drone teams (pilot + camera operator) in Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Austin, Las Vegas, & Toronto we are able to work “on location” across the americas and in international destinations including the Bahamas & Caribbean.
